TowerMRL has immediate openings for Entry Level Welder/ with basic welding preparation experience and knowledge looking for professional and personal growth while traveling throughout the US. This is an entry level position for welders that are looking to start a career in the telecommunication field.  This position starts out as a fulltime Fire Watch Position and can evolve into a full time Welder.  This position involves travel throughout the US and although the travel is extensive, we look to schedule employees for 2-3 weeks in the field at a time. Time off is backlogged after each deployment. Employees wanting greater pay have the option for longer assignments.  Applicants must be able to prepare structural galvanized steel for welding by the field welders.  This includes removal of galvanizing, beveling, measure and fit up of steel, proper installation of steel on tower, clean up of completed welds, galvanizing of welds, and photo documentation.  The Fit up Tech will assist the field welders in any way they can.  Fit Up Techs must have consistent quality and safe work practices by understanding and following layouts, blueprints and work orders. MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO CLIMB TO HEIGHTS IN EXCESS OF 500'.  In addition, this positions requires a person to lift more than 50 lbs., and have the ability to travel extensively out of state for extended periods of time, including overnight and weekends.  TowerMRL provides any additional training and certifications, base pay (including travel time), individual hotel rooms and per diem pay for incidentals for overnight work days. All new employees will undergo a full tower and rescue training prior to first deployment. Field Welders have opportunity for extensive overtime and room for advancement.

TowerMRL provides the following additional compensation:

    Pay Range - $15.00 to $18.00 per hour  - $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 per year

    ​$35.00 per day for meals while traveling - this is reimbursed on paychecks - Company does not advance this money under any circumstances

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Welding Fit up technicians will perform the following duties and responsibilities as cross trained field services personnel:
Prepare Structural members for welding by field welders
Work with consistent quality and safe work practices
Understand and follow layouts, blueprints and work orders
Identify different types and preparation of materials used in structural welding and understand proper care in handling materials.
Identify and use various types of hand tools, wire, and machines.
Must have the ability to climb heights in excess of 500 feet
Troubleshoot by understanding blueprints, identify issues, and taking corrective actions.
Perform initial QA/QC checks on finished work to ensure conformance with specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Able to use small engines and fire hoses/fire extinguishers
Proficient in the use of grinders and cutting machines.

Ability to accurately measure and prepare structural steel
Ability to PASS a DOT physical
Ability to PASS a drug test
Must be able to PASS TMRL training and Skills week
Reliable transportation to and from work
Personal Hand tools
Financial Ability to provide own per diem money

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma is required, some college experience preferred
Valid Driver License
Good analytical and computer skills
Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Ability and interest in performing work in the field
Demonstrated willingness to learn
Physical ability and the willingness to climb towers in excess of 500 feet
Physical ability to lift 50 + lbs. and be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with workers, other department employees, and the general public
Some ability to read and interpret sketches and blueprints
Ability to obtain applicable tower climbing certifications
Ability to travel extensively out of state and for extended periods of time (travel required is 95% to include weekends and overnight)
Ability to be covered by company auto insurance plan (e.g. Good Driving Record - No DUI's or suspensions within the last 5 years and no more than 2 traffic violations (with less than 3pts. max on each violation) in the past 3 years)
